A Drumstick Plantation initiative was organized in collaboration with GACL Foundation to promote sustainable agriculture and eco-friendly farming practices among rural communities. A total of 20 farmers from Vakhapura and Navapura villages were selected as beneficiaries. Each farmer received 10 drumstick plants, 10 protective cages for safeguarding the plants, and 5 kg of vermicompost to support organic soil health improvement. During the program, an awareness session was also conducted to educate farmers on the nutritional and health benefits of drumstick consumption, as well as the importance of adopting vermicompost and organic inputs to reduce dependency on chemical fertilizers. This initiative not only aimed at enhancing soil fertility and long-term agricultural sustainability but also encouraged farmers to adopt drumstick cultivation as a source of additional income and nutrition.
