Women Empowerment

Women Empowerment

Women’s development program of SMUT is conceived as part of a larger women’s program, aimed at empowerment of local women. Educating girls and women is an integral part of our developmental activities since empowering them will lead to the development of the society as a whole. Main objective of the initiative is enabling the women to analyzeyses their own situation, tosituation to decide their priorities and develop solutions to their problems and take collective action to improve various aspects of their lives. SMUT started its health activities with women by addressing their primary health issues and then savings and credits programs among women were enhanced to facilitate their ability to access fair credit and lead them towards self-reliance and better life. We include participation of women in all the activities to ensure active involvement of women leading to empowerment.

01. Women’s Day Celebration

Women's Day Celebration at Dungri village in Idar Sabarkantha was a grand event with the participation of 130 women farmers. The occasion included enlightening lectures on women's significant role in Agriculture and Animal Husbandry. Distinguished women were honored for their achievements in Animal Husbandry, while experts from government and private organizations were invited to deliver insightful talks.

02. Leadership Development

Leadership Development for rural disadvantaged women, especially those from lower economic backgrounds, is a key focus for SMUT. These women often face challenges such as illiteracy, lack of training, and limited social and economic status. Without the necessary skills, social standing, and economic empowerment, they struggle to engage in independent business ventures, even with financial aid. To address these issues, SMUT emphasizes diverse approaches to poverty alleviation. This includes supporting the formation of self-help groups, promoting leadership development, mobilizing communities for active participation in rural development, and enhancing their skills for achieving economic self-sufficiency.
